Aberdeen has its share of superb music venues, with capacities ranging from the hundreds to the tens of thousands.

We at Piano Lessons Aberdeen encourage all of our students to get out and see as much live music as possible, for nothing is quite as exciting or inspiring as seeing your favourite artist up-close and personal! Below are a list of notable venues, that would well be worth your time to check out.

P&J Live

P&J Live boasts a concert capacity of over 10,000, and thus naturally houses concerts for the biggest names in music. Mcfly, Katy Perry, Florence and the Machine and the infamous Steps have graced the stage of the AECC. A word of warning though - do make sure you don't delay in buying tickets for the top acts, as these often sell out within hours!


Located on 2 Trinity Quay, Aberdeen AB11 5AA Krakatoa is a unique venue that has regular live events every weekend. They cater to all genres of music. The venue is located on Trinity Quay, and there’s been a bar situated there for for almost 500 years. The current incarnation takes it’s name from the volcano, which reputedly made the loudest sound in recorded history, when it lasted erupted back in 1883. The venue doesn't quite match that but it does come close.


Drummonds has long been a go to venue for many generations in Aberdeen. Located on 1 Belmont St, Aberdeen AB10 1JR Drummonds is a 400 capacity venue that hosts a wide range of genres and even comedy nights. The venue is more of a bar/nightclub in the evenings & during the early evening is when you can catch some great bands here.
